Harwin Shield Cans & Shield Clips

Harwin Shield Cans and Shield Clips offer the most popular way of providing protection against the effects of RFI and EMI. These cans and clips create a Faraday cage around sensitive or emitting circuits, preventing interference from disrupting the device.

RFI EMC Shielding Cans

Harwin RFI EMC Shielding Cans offer fast assembly and reliable RFI protection. These shielding cans combine to remove the need for secondary hand soldering operations. Provides excellent RFI and EMI protection to sensitive circuitry at the PCB level and eliminates the risk of heat damage. RFI EMC Shielding Cans are secured into position with a simple push-action and can be removed anytime for cleaning and rework. The mechanically-robust, simple five-sided box design saves costs compared to fence and cover style and is manufactured from nickel silver to ensure solid screening.

EZ Boardware EMC Shielding Can Kit

Harwin EZ Boardware EMC Shielding Can Kit contains DIY Shield Can blanks, Shield retention clips, and full instructions these can kits are made from Nickel Silver material for effective & useable shielding. Harwin’s EZ-Shield Can Kit comprises two 80mm x 60mm x 0.3mm thick Nickel Silver sheets that are pre-scribed with a 5mm grid. This allows easy cutting and forming, enabling the user to produce a shield can of the required dimensions. Auto-placeable Shield Can Clips are also included, to hold the cans securely in place on the PCB.

EZ Boardware EMC RFI Shield Clips

Harwin EZ Boardware EMC RFI Shield Clips offer protection to sensitive electronic circuits from extraneous electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI and RFI). This has typically been achieved by mounting metal shields or ‘cans’ directly to the PCB to fully shroud the required circuitry. Harwin’s EMI/RFI clips are aimed at telecoms base stations, radio communications, data processing, and in-car entertainment systems.

Harwin Compact and Corner SMD Shield Clips

Compact and Corner SMD Shield Clips

Compact and Corner SMD Shield Clips avoid the need for soldering, are packaged in tape and reel for automation, and enable the can to be easily removed in case of the need for inspection or regular servicing. These SMD shield clips offer ease of manufacture for EMI shielding solutions and are more environmentally friendly by using less solder and simple operations to attach the can to the PCB.

This TTI Tech Specs video for Harwin Shield Cans and Shield Clips explains that traditional RFI and EMI cans use soldered pins that are not easy to remove, but the cans and clips offered by Harwin allow engineers to easily perform future repairs while maintaining a firm grip of the can when in use. EMI and RFI cans come in all shapes and sizes including solid and gapped designs, while the clips utilize SMD technologies to eliminate through-hole components.

Designing electronics to be quite can be challenging, but if you find that no matter what you do there are just too many emissions, slap a can on it and call it a day! The Harwin range of compact EMI cans and can clips really put the can-do attitude into helping engineers eliminate stray RF and EMI. Traditional RFI and EMI cans use soldered pins that are not easy to remove, but the cans and clips offered by Harwin allow engineers to easily perform future repairs while maintaining a firm grip of the can when in use.

EMI and RFI cans come in all shapes and sizes including solid and gapped designs, while the clips utilize SMD technologies to eliminate through-hole components. The clips support a minimum of 20 matings cycles, have an operating temperature range of -55 to +105 degrees Celsius, and have heights between 0.8 and 3.65 millimeters.
