Quality
TTI has a commitment to quality that begins with the premier suppliers we stock and continues long after we deliver exactly the right components at the specified time. We measure this effort all the way through our processes and check it on every order; in more than 100 locations around the globe, stocking 850,000 part numbers and shipping Billions of components.
Quality at Every Stage
As far back as 1989, TTI addressed the challenge to improve order accuracy and on-time delivery by implementing Total Quality Management (TQM). TQM is interwoven throughout TTI’s internal operations, our component suppliers and our customers. All TTI locations have ongoing Quality Improvement Teams that systematically research and analyze monthly performance data to most effectively improve quality.
By 2004, overall quality had reached standards beyond any expectations, but the company’s ongoing efforts continue to drive results closer to six sigma. In addition to systems improvements, TTI’s culture of unsurpassed customer service has ensured that TTI’s TQM is an ongoing success.
Today, TTI has a dedicated Quality department pursuing perfection. The vice president of quality chairs the monthly TQM Forum, comprised of senior staff, which analyzes quality data by key functional areas and by component manufacturer. The Forum then establishes quality goals, launches new initiatives and reinforces quality efforts and training.
Warehouse Management System (WMS)
TTI has committed substantial resources to technologies that enable our employees to continually improve our record-breaking quality levels. Linked by a proprietary inventory operating system TTI facilities around the world steadily and impressively raise warehouse quality. The embedded processes in the WMS are key factors in the reduction of TTI errors to unprecedented levels - averaging below 200 issues per million parts shipped continuously for more than ten years.
The Right Parts, Right Time, Right Place
TTI integrates with customers’ materials management platforms to maintain efficient production operations with reduced inventories by utilizing our automated order fulfillment process. The program triggers orders to be pulled and shipped from the massive TTI inventory to meet the optimal delivery schedule.
TTI offers value-added services that eliminate incoming inspections at the customer’s site, as well as dock-to-stock and ship-to-stock programs to reduce acquisition, handling, inventory costs and eliminate areas where quality issues can arise. From traditional bonded inventories to more complex in-plant store environments, TTI has custom supply chain management programs to reduce customer inventories and streamline the purchasing process that enable our customers to focus on more cost-intensive areas.
For more than twenty-five years, TTI has maintained a proactive system of quality process that give dedicated employees the tools and training required to reach ever greater levels of quality performance. These efforts support your local TTI branch with excellent service and 100 percent authorized products around the globe.
ISO Registration
In 1993, TTI was registered to the international quality standard, ISO 9002. Since then, TTI achieved registration to AS/EN9100, the international standard for establishing and maintaining a quality management system for the aerospace industry. AS/EN9100 and ISO 9001 allow TTI to be a qualified supplier to companies throughout the world. Registration to these standards assures customers consistent procedures and quality levels throughout the TTI organization. Registration to ISO14001 assures our customers and suppliers that TTI is also a proper steward of the environment.
TTI is certified to several Quality Management Standards:
Anti-Counterfeit Parts
At TTI we understand that counterfeit components are not only a concern for life sustaining devices and jet aircraft traveling at mach speed; counterfeit components may lead to device failures and quality misconceptions that threaten the hard earned reputation and brand integrity of each and every device manufacturer. TTI quality professionals work with industry groups such as the Electronic Component Industry Association (ECIA) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), to help draft regulations, serve on standards committees, and even advise lawmakers concerning legislation designed to put an end to the counterfeit of electronic components.
As a fully authorized distributor, TTI deals only in new components, purchasing directly from the original manufacturer. This ensures TTI customers never worry about the possibility of counterfeits, because there are no third-party independent brokers or gray market situations where the chain of custody concerning a component can be uncertain. Meticulous record keeping, secure inventory tracking and quality inspections maintain that components ordered from TTI are the highest quality, 100 percent authorized and direct from the original manufacturer.
TTI takes great pride in our line card of premier suppliers. These are relationships that aren’t entered into lightly – due diligence is performed to confirm there is more to each company than their reputation and website. Stability and performance are evaluated, quality, delivery, logistics, returns policies, warranties and even corporate cultures are investigated. And once that relationship begins, there is ongoing evaluation on both sides. These long-term business partnerships are predicated on each party delivering the best quality products to the end user, on-time, every time. All of this goes into maintaining the authenticity of the supply-chain for our customers.
Counterfeit parts are a threat to the integrity of the industry and the products that our end users rely upon. It is incumbent on everyone in the electronics industry to work together to end this potentially devastating and catastrophic threat. TTI is proud to be on the forefront of this initiative. We encourage our authorized industry partners to join the effort in defeating counterfeiting as an issue facing the electronics industry.

Total Quality Management
In 1989, TTI implemented Total Quality Management (TQM). TTI’s comprehensive Total Quality Process involves TTI’s internal operations, its component manufacturers and its customers. All TTI locations have ongoing quality improvement teams that systematically research and analyze monthly performance data using the analytical tools to most effectively improve quality.
Overall quality improved to 99.77% in 2004, and the company’s strong efforts continue to drive results closer to six sigma. Today the company performs at 99.93%. In addition to systems improvements, TTI’s culture that includes empowerment of employees, extensive training, varied job tasks and frequent team meetings has helped make the TTI Total Quality Process successful.
TTI’s high on-time delivery performance reduces customers’ overall inventory costs, which include: the cost of capital, warehousing costs, inventory shrinkage, obsolescence, inventory insurance, property tax, safety stock levels, expediting costs and line shut-down costs. These costs are all reduced with lower inventory costs made possible by higher on-time delivery performance.
