Some people need coffee or an energy drink to give them that surge to start the day and that’s great for productivity, but for circuits in hazardous locations, surges can mean failure of epic proportions. Bourns Model 1280 Series AC surge protective devices can keep things in check and they’re rated for Class I and Class II hazardous locations. With an impulse current capacity up to 7.5kA, a high short-circuit current rating up to 25kA, and large surge energy capability up to 50kA per mode, you can be sure that your connected devices are absolutely protected. Furthermore, the high reliability protected MOV with Advanced Thermal Disconnector protects the switch from thermal events, and operating voltages ranging from 120V to 690V [GU1] are all available, protecting everything from domestic devices to industrial systems.
