Dear Valued Customers,
Recent weeks have seen unprecedented stress on electronic components raw materials supply chains and the global manufacturing workforce. As a result of constraints on raw materials supplies, government-mandated workforce restrictions and other factors, some electronic components suppliers have announced force majeure declarations.
Force majeure – a legal term meaning “overwhelming force,” also known as an “act of God” – is a condition where one party suspends fulfillment of a contractual obligation when an event beyond their control prevents them from performing as both parties had expected.
As a specialist distributor of electronic components, we have a high level of expertise in dealing with supply chain constraints and other volatile market conditions. TTI’s inventory position helps us mitigate the impacts of component shortages. In addition, we have been and will continue taking the following steps to address any force majeure declarations we may receive from electronic component suppliers:
- Continuously managing our customers’ supply chain risk by increasing current on-order quantities and future capacity reservation
- Increasing customer supply chain resiliency through intentional product lifecycle management or alternative component selection
- Actively informing you on the latest lead times via real-time updates to the Lead Time Trends section of tti.com
We will continue actively working on our customers’ behalf to align their future demands and forecasts with volatile market conditions, in light of force majeure declarations by component manufacturers. We stay in regular contact with component suppliers to get the latest status information and keep you informed of any impacts on delivery of electronic components as a result of this ongoing situation.
Please continue to visit this page for the most up-to-date news and information in the weeks ahead.
Sincerely,
The TTI Leadership Team
