Vishay LTO Power Resistors

Vishay LTO Series Power Resistors are non-inductive and have direct mounting ceramic on a heatsink. These products come in 30W, 50W,100W, and 150W capacities. These thick film resistors have a high energy capability ranging from 20J to 60J for a 0.1second pulse. The LTO150 series features 150W, and a resistance range from 0.03Ω to 1.3MΩ. The LTO Series are extensions of RTO types. These LTO series power resistors are RoHS compliant, and LTO100 and LTO150 are AEC-Q200 qualified. Typical applications for these resistors are high-speed switching and power conversion devices.

I want to tell you about Vishay’s LTO family of thick film power resistors. Why? Sometimes it’s the small things that make all the difference. In applications like power conversion, high-speed switching, and RF, parasitic inductance can be a nightmare. Vishay’s LTO30, LTO50, and LTO100 are power resistors with an exceptionally low inductance of less than 0.1 µH. They use low-profile TO-220 and TO-247 ceramic packages that attach directly to the heatsink, which improves heat dissipation and reduces board space.

The resistors can handle up to 100W and are available in with resistance values from 10mΩ to 1MΩ, with tolerance as low as ±1% and a temperature coefficient of ±150ppm/°C to keep resistance values stable across the wide operating temperatures of industrial and automotive applications. They are able to handle pulses and could accept energy up to 35J in 0.1s. And if you’re designing for automotive applications, the LTO100 series is also AEC-Q200 qualified.
