Vishay Fast Proximity IR Receiver Modules
Vishay Fast Proximity IR Receiver Modules are sensors with fixed gain and variable emitter intensity that come in a variety of sizes and have carrier frequencies of 38kHz and 56kHz. These IR receivers have a supply current of 0.35mA and 0.37mA and viewing angles of 45, 50, and 75 degrees and are available for both SMD and leaded mounting. The fast proximity IR receiver modules provide an active low output in response to infrared bursts at 940nm. These devices are used as reflective sensors for hand dryers, towel or soap dispensers, water faucets, and toilet flush.
Features

While they won't give you X-ray vision to fulfill your superhero or supervillain dreams, Vishay Opto's fixed gain IR receivers are ideal for light barrier, proximity, and reflective sensing applications. The module, which operates on voltages from 2.0 to 3.6 volts, provides a fixed gain, so the sensitivity remains constant in all ambient light conditions, even in direct sunlight. In conjunction with a 940 nanometer infrared emitter, the receiver can be used to create 12-meter light barriers. For example, garage door safety sensors and two meter reflective proximity sensors. The Vishay receiver also incorporates all the goodies you need to get your next IR application to work, including an internal amplifier, bandpass filter and demodulator. So no more trying to build with discrete components. The receiver can also be used for data transmission applications, such as remotes in short range communication.
