If you’re sending something to space, you need space grade parts. If you’re not, you can still use space grade parts and tell your friends that your design is “out of this world.” At least, it could be, especially with Souriau’s space grade hermetic 38999 series three connectors. The connectors are offered in versions that are approved to ESA ESCC and US MIL standards for flight models, with applications like satellites, launchers, space station, and shuttle hardware, as well as in a version without traceability that is derived from the same components.
The connectors are offered in shell sizes 9 to 25 and with various contact layouts for signal, power, or both, including options with coax and triax contacts. They feature a passivated stainless steel shell with a sintered glass insulator and a gastight seal. Multiple clocking versions are available to prevent incorrect mating when multiple connectors are used.
