The M34 and M35 wet tantalum electrolytic chip capacitors incorporate the advantages of all the varieties of electrolytic capacitors and eliminate most of the disadvantages. The devices have a higher ripple current capability than any other electrolytic type with similar combinations of capacitance and case size. In addition, the M35 features a 3-V reverse voltage capability at + 85 °C.
Optimized for power supplies in all avionics, military, and space applications that currently use Vishay’s ST -T1 (M34) or 135D- C/T1 (M35) case ratings, the devices’ new surface-mountable case allows designers to eliminate the last through-hole component on their PCB, reducing overall PCB assembly cost.
With a wide capacitance range of 10 μF at 125 V to 120 μF at 25 V for the M34, and 1.7 μF at 125 V to 220 μF at 6 V for the M35, the devices feature all industry-standard T1 wet tantalum ratings. The capacitors offer tin/lead or 100 % tin (RoHS- complaint) terminations.
The M34 and M35 operate over a temperature range of - 55 °C to + 85 °C, and up to + 125 °C with voltage derating. The devices offer a ± 20 % standard capacitance tolerance at 120 Hz and + 25 °C, with tolerances of ± 5 % and ± 10 % also available.
