Vishay Dale RCWE and RCWL Series Thick Film Resistors
Vishay Dale RCWE and RCWL Series Thick Film Surface Mount Resistors are electronic components used for limiting or controlling the flow of electric current in a circuit. The RCWE series thick film resistors have extremely low resistance values and enhanced power ratings due to long-side terminal construction. The RCWL series thick film resistors have low resistance values and are suitable for current sensing and shunts. These resistors feature a combination of metal glaze on a high-quality ceramic substrate, along with a protective overglaze, contributing to the overall performance, precision, and durability. The RCWE and RCWL series surface mount resistors operate at a power range from 0.125W to 2W and a temperature range from -55°C to +155°C. Typical applications include automotive electronics, computing devices, consumer electronics, industrial electronics, and telecommunications.

Abracadabra! Hocus pocus! Alakazam! Reverse terminations! Ah, that’s the right magic phrase if you want double the power rating in the same footprint. At least it worked for Vishay’s RCWE thick film resistors. The surface mount chip resistors provide an extremely low resistance value between 10 and 976 milliohms with a power rating up to 1 watt using standard terminations, or up to 2 watts for reverse terminations, which also improve thermal performance to reduce solder joint cracking. They’re suitable for current sensing and shunts in automotive, power management, and over current protection applications. The AEC-Q200 qualified sulfur resistant thick film chips are made of high quality ceramic that is protected with an overglaze. The chip’s lead free solder contacts are on a nickel barrier layer providing added durability and corrosion resistance.
