Vishay is kind of like that kid in college that broke the curve on every exam. While industrial and automotive grade parts are nice, Vishay is breaking the curve by releasing space-grade parts inductors based on the popular IHLP® platform and putting them in applications like “flight-ready solar inverters” on satellites and other power conversion and noise suppression applications that are literally out of this world.

The SGIHLP series of inductors are MIL-STD-981 Class S Compliant power inductors with a ruggedized, low-profile package and a 180 degree Celsius continuous operating temperature rating. The inductors are available in 7 footprints from size 24 to size 97 with inductance values from 0.22 to 100 microhenries and current ratings up to 100 amps. They have a magnetically shielded construction that provides a soft saturation characteristic to handle high transient current spikes, and they offer excellent inductance and saturation stability over their full operating temperature range for unprecedented performance on earth and in space.
