Vishay WSHM2818 Power Metal Strip Resistors are constructed to resist sulfur, ensuring reliability in high-sulfur environments. The WSHM2818 resistors feature improved thermal management and an all-welded construction, making them ideal for current sensing, voltage division, and pulse applications. These resistors offer a very low inductance of <5nH and a low thermal EMF of less than 3μV/°C. WSHM2818 resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified and support a Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) of less than 20ppm/°C. Typical applications include current sensing, pulse applications, and voltage division.

Vishay’s WSHM2818 Power Metal Strip resistors are meant to go clubbin’, or at least as much as a resistor can, because it’s designed to handle more high power pulses than all the EDM your DJ can play in a weekend. The WSHM2818 design features an all-welded construction ideal for pulse applications, voltage division, and current sensing.
The design incorporates improved thermal management that enables high power density and reduces measurement error, while also offering very low inductance. The resistors can handle 7W in a 2818 case size, and Vishay’s proprietary processing enables resistance values down to 1mΩ and tolerance down to plus or minus 0.5%. Vishay WSHM2818 Power Metal Strip resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified and are unaffected by high sulfur environments.
