Vishay CRCW-HP Thick Film Chip Resistors feature a double-side printed resistor element that offers high pulse load capability and enhanced power rating. The CRCW-HP thick film chip resistors operate within a resistance range from 1Ω to 1MΩ and a temperature range from -55°C to +155°C. These resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified with temperature coefficients of ±200ppm/K and ±100ppm/K. CRCW-HP resistors can handle voltages from 50V to 500V, with resistance tolerances of ±5%, ±1%, and ±0.5%. Typical applications include automotive, commercial, high-power, and industrial.

People with tiny sports cars always make fun of big trucks until they need to move something heavy. It’s basically the same with resistors. Thin film gets all the attention, but you turn to thick film when you’re dealing with high power, and Vishay’s AEC-Q200 qualified CRCW-HP Series combines high power dissipation in small case sizes in a single device. This is made possible by the double-sided design that uses two resistive layers in parallel within the device, enabling power dissipation of up to 1.5W in a 2512 case size, and allowing designers to increase design density.
The design of the CRCW-HP Series also results in less stress on the PCB as temperature changes and offers superior anti-surge and pulse-handling capability for both long and short pulses. The resistors are available from one ohm to one mega ohm and are ideal for automotive, industrial, power conversion, motor drive, and battery management applications.
