Nexperia HC Family Counter Shift Registers

Nexperia HC Family Counter Shift Registers integrate multiple data handling functions, combining shift and storage operations with cascading capabilities for scalable designs. These devices utilize separate clock inputs for shift and storage registers, enabling synchronized data transfer and output latching without disrupting ongoing operations. The HC family logic ICs offer an operating voltage range from 2Vdc to 6Vdc, an output drive from ±5.2mA to ±7.8mA, an operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C,  and a maximum clock frequency up to 109MHz. Applications span serial-to-parallel data conversion, industrial control systems, and peripheral interfacing in automotive or consumer electronics.

“Life’s not fair,” is one of the first things I remember learning as a kid. And it’s not! I can’t easily scale my own output, but in electronics all you need is the Nexperia HC Family shift registers and you can scale to your heart’s content. The devices combine shift and storage operations, featuring a serial input and both parallel and serial outputs, providing serial-to-parallel conversion while passing the data through the serial output to scale to the number of pins needed. They have separate clock inputs for the shift and storage registers and can operate with clocks up to 24MHz. They’re built on a low power CMOS process and can operate from a 2Vdc to 6Vdc. CMOS and TTL level input variants are available and include clamp diodes, while the storage register has tri-state outputs.
