Harwin Kona 8.5mm Power Connectors

Harwin Kona 8.5mm Power Connectors feature a rugged cable-to-board design that maintains electrical continuity under heavy vibration and shock. The Kona 8.5mm power connectors have an innovative mate-before-lock mechanism that prevents any damage during the locking process. These Kona power connectors have a maximum working voltage of 3000VAC and a minimum insulation resistance of 10GΩ. The Kona 8.5mm connectors operate at a temperature range from -65°C to +150°C and are ideal for various applications, including aviation, engine power management, industrial power units, and UAVs.

Kona 8.50mm pitch Straight Crimp Power Contact Terminals are designed for optimal performance. This female crimp contact is tailored for 8 AWG cables, it reliably delivers up to 60A per contact nominal. Enhanced with a durable gold finish on both contact area and termination points, ensuring long-lasting conductivity and efficiency.

Kona Hand Crimp Tools are engineered for precise crimping of Kona Female power contact KA1-0450005 onto compatible cables. Complementing this tool with the positioner ZA1-921 ensures seamless integration, facilitating effortless crimping operations.

It’s important to have high-reliability power connectors in a world with only basic surface mount or through-hole connectors, a plane’s navigation or flight systems might go down, or even worse, you might lose your in-flight entertainment. Harwin’s Kona 8.5mm pitch high-reliability connectors maximize power in extreme conditions found in aviation power control systems, EV battery monitoring, defense-based robotic drives, and high-end industrial power units. These connectors can achieve 60A of continuous current per contact with a durability of 250 mating cycles and a maximum voltage rating of 3kV.

The 6-finger beryllium copper and gold-plated contacts are individually shrouded on both male and female connectors to prevent physical damage and avoid accidental touching. The rugged cable-to-board design maintains electrical continuity under heavy vibration and shock. These connectors feature a mate-before-lock mechanism that prevents any damage during the locking process. No tools are required because fixing these connectors is simple due to the use of the stainless-steel thumb screws fitted to the female connector housing.
