EATON MOVGT Hybrid MOVs and GDTs
EATON MOVGT Series are hybrid overvoltage protection devices that integrate a Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) and Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) to enhance overvoltage protection. These components come in radial leaded form factors with disc sizes ranging from 7mm to 20mm and offer operating voltages from 55VAC to 560VAC. The MOV and GDT combination provides high surge current protection, clamping large transient voltages while isolating the MOV from smaller transients to extend the device's life. These hybrid units can withstand surge currents up to 5kA with a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and high reliability under vibration, temperature cycling, and humidity conditions. The MOVGT series is suitable for applications including industrial control, telecom, lighting, uninterruptible power supplies, and surge protection devices.
