Yageo RL Low Ohmic Chip Resistors
Yageo RL Series Low Ohmic Chip Resistors are Surface Mount (SMD/SMT) current-sense resistors with lead-free terminations made by the thick-film process. The resistors are available in package sizes from 0402 to 2512 and offer tolerance options of ±1%, ±2%, and ±5%. The RL chip resistors are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, with high component and equipment reliability. These PCB space-saving resistors have low resistances applied to current sensing and have a resistance range from 0.01Ω to 1Ω. Common applications include consumer goods, converters, printer equipment, server boards, and telecom.

My last regulatory compliance manager was like an infinite resistor. They’d fight me on product updates, part number changes, new colors for the enclosure, and anything else. Maybe they had good reasons, but I wish they were more like YAGEO Group's RL series chip resistors, because they have low resistance and are easy to work with, as they come in case sizes from 0402 to 2512. They’re offered in resistance values from 10mΩ to 1Ω. The high-grade ceramic body and laser-trimmed resistive layer enable tolerance down to ±1% while enabling power ratings up to 1W and TCR as low as ±200 ppm/°C. This provides predictable behavior across their operating temperature range from -55°C to +155°C and makes them suitable for precision current sensing applications, including battery management, motor control, and power supply monitoring, eliminating the need for bulky wire-wound alternatives.
