TT Electronics OPB720 Long Distance Reflective Switches
TT Electronics OPB720A and OPB720B Series Long Distance Reflective Switches are designed to detect objects as far away as 12” (305mm) using standard 90% reflective material and can detect objects as small as 0.08” (2mm). The OPB720 series switches consist of three standard reflective switching distances -06Z for typically 6” (152mm), -12Z for typically 12” (305mm), and -30VZ for typically 30” (762mm). These OPB720A reflective switches operate from 10V to 30V voltage range and OPB720B reflective switches operate from 4V to 7V voltage range. The OPB720 series has an open collector output transistor and power requirements are compatible with most PLCs and TTL gates. Typical applications include near-focus security systems, hand wash and soap dispensing stations, and product dispensing systems.

We all have our personal bubbles, and some people prefer a bit more distance. TT Electronics offers reflective switches with a bit more range. The OPB720 reflective switches can detect objects with a reflectivity of 90% at distances up to 30 inches. The switches can operate in most ambient light environments with a light rejection of up to 100K Lux, and objects as small as 2mm can be detected. Additionally, the OPB720 range of sensors supports both CMOS and TTL logic thanks to its open collector output, and the power supply voltage ranges from 10V to 30V for the A series and 4V to 7V for the B series. The operating temperature of the A series of switching is 0°C to 50°C while the B series has an operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. These switches are ideal for conveyor systems, personnel movement, and many other commercial and industrial applications.
