High voltage is like high pressure water: if you contain and direct it where it needs to go then it does good things, and if you don’t then usually bad things happen. TE Connectivity Kilovac EV Series High Voltage Relays make good things happen, with a hermetically sealed device capable of surviving in harsh environments such as EVs and other automotive applications as well as explosive atmospheres. They’re rated for up to 500 amps of continuous current and up to 900 volts DC.  They’re offered with a wide range of coil voltages and a built-in coil economizer on select configurations, allowing for a hold power of just 1.7 watts at 12 volts DC. With a mechanical life of 1 million cycles, an operating temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, these relays are the ideal choice for engineers looking to control that sweet electric juice in the next generation of EVs.
