TDK Ceramic Transient Voltage Suppressors (CTVS) Multilayer Varistors (MLVs) are compact, highly reliable components designed for efficient protection against transient overvoltage and surge currents. These MLVs are UL approved in accordance with the UL 1449 standard and provide robust surge protection for industrial, telecommunication, and smart home applications. The CTVS MLVs are capable of withstanding 8/20μs pulses with peak currents up to 6kA and 10/700μs pulses up to 45A and are ideal for critical environments like IoT, Industry 4.0, and automation systems. Their versatility extends to safety systems, including fire alarms, access control, and IP camera protection.

Whether you're a designer or a hammer-wielding thunder god, EPCOS CTVS MLVs by TDK, offer the protection you need against severe transient overvoltages and high surge currents. EPCOS CTVS MLVs have UL approval to the UL 1449 standard for surge protective devices, providing assurance they can withstand extensive surge and overvoltage events. The devices can be used to protect industrial, smart home, safety, and telecom applications, with dedicated MLVs to address telecom surge requirements.
Devices are available in 0805 to 2220 case sizes and are rated for peak currents up to 6000A with a maximum response time of less than half a nanosecond. CTVS MLVs offer bidirectional protection, low leakage current, and can handle repeated pulses without derating, ensuring they’re always ready to protect your device.
