TDK C Series Soft Termination MLCCs are tailored for applications where significant board flex is expected, particularly in safety or high-reliability designs. These capacitors are commonly employed in safety-critical automotive applications like ABS, ESP, airbags, and battery line applications. Conventional termination materials used in standard MLCCs lack flexibility, making them susceptible to cracking or shearing of the solder joint between the component and the circuit board due to vibration, shock, or thermal expansion and contraction.
