Smiths Interconnect D Series Quick Disconnect Connectors
Smiths Interconnect / Molex D Series Quick Disconnect Connectors are designed with over-molding, integrated electronics, D-shaped housings, and metal shells to enhance their strength and provide alternative contact configurations to meet specific requirements. These connectors are available with up to nine Hypertac hyperboloid contacts in less than 0.5 diameter. The D series disconnect connectors come in 3 standard sizes: D01, D02, and D04 standard stocked connectors with 3 to 82 contacts. These connectors offer a current rating range from 1A to 4A and insulation resistance of >1000MΩ at 500VDC. The main applications of D connectors include aerospace, industrial automation, medical devices, and transportation.

Finding the right connection in the junk drawer of cables seems nearly impossible nowadays with all the different electronics in our homes requiring unique connection types and sizes. For an intuitive connector solution in medical, industrial, rail, and commercial equipment, Smiths Interconnect introduces the simple-to-use D Series Connectors. The D series offers a single connection to a wide variety of signal, power, and coax applications in 3 standard sizes of 3 to 82 contact positions. The D-shaped housing with quick connection and a push-button release allows seamless one-handed operation with visually intuitive alignment. High-impact polycarbonate material offers increased strength with a metal shell. Crimp and solder cup contacts support up to 8A in a hyperboloid contact sleeve and are reliable in harsh and demanding environments with temperatures up to 125°C. Pre tinning, soldering, and shrink tubing are not required for the recessed contact terminations of the D Series Connectors.
