Smiths Interconnect REP Series Environmentally-Sealed Connectors

Smiths Interconnect / Molex REP Series Environmentally-Sealed Connectors feature Hypertac hyperboloid contact technology, ensuring reliability under high shock and vibration. REP connectors offer two main versions with crimp termination contacts for cable harness applications and with straight or bent termination contacts for PCB mount applications. These connectors operate at a current rating of 18A and a voltage rating of 230V. Typical applications include alarms, brakes, driver cabins, HVAC, and sensors.

Features

  • 2, 6, and 12-way standard insulators
  • Allows wire sections from 0.5mm² to 2.52 m² (20-13AWG) with hyperboloid contact and wire sections from 0.75mm² to 2.52 m² (18-13AWG) with MR contact
  • Conforms to main rail standards: EN 45545, EN 50124

This TTI Tech Specs video for Smiths Interconnect REP Series Connectors explains that the connector range comes in two main contact technology varieties, the Hyperboloid and MR Contact types which support up to 20,000 and 500 mating cycles respectively. With a maximum operating voltage of 230 volts per connector and 400 volts per dummy contact, the maximum current supported by is 18 amps, and the maximum contact resistance when mated is 2.5 milliohms.

Just as peanut butter and jelly go together so perfectly, the range of Smiths Interconnect REP Series of environmentally-sealed connectors provides perfect seals when mated thanks to their environmental sealing of IP66 and IP67. The connector range comes in two main contact technology varieties, the Hyperboloid and MR Contact types which support up to 20,000 and 500 mating cycles respectively.

With a maximum operating voltage of 230 volts per connector and 400 volts per dummy contact, the maximum current supported by is 18 amps, and the maximum contact resistance when mated is 2.5 milliohms. Wire gauges supported by the REP Series of connectors are 20 to 13 American wire gauges for the Hyperboloid and 18 to 13 American wire gauges for the MR contacts, and the operating temperature range of minus 75 to 100 degrees Celsius for crimped versions ensures operation in all environments.
