Samtec’s mPower Ultra Micro Power System is like an electronics ninja: you’d hardly notice them in a design, but they certainly pack a punch and they’re flexible, with options for board-to-board, cable-to-board, and cable-to-cable applications. The connectors can carry up to 18A per power blade and is available with 2 to 10 positions on a 2mm pitch. This provides 2.2mm of creepage and 1.65mm of clearance, but this can be increased by selectively loading contacts. The system offers 5mm to 20mm stack heights and includes vertical and right-angle options to address new and existing applications. Discrete wire assemblies feature a plastic top latch or metal side latches for secure retention, while headers are offered with optional weld tabs. Select products are available in automotive versions and qualified to Samtec’s Severe Environment Testing, ensuring reliable connectivity in harsh environments.
