Phoenix Contact Combicon PLx5 and PLH16 Terminal Blocks

Phoenix Contact PLH5/PLA5 Combicon Terminal Blocks feature a lever mechanism for easy connection and release of conductors, eliminating the need for tools. With a simple touch, the spring cage ensures a gas-tight wire termination, enhancing reliability. The narrow design width of these terminal blocks optimizes space on the PCB, while color coding options facilitate wire color matching for simplified installations.

The PLH16 Combicon Terminal Blocks offer a lever mechanism for effortless conductor connection and release without tools. The spring cage ensures a secure wire termination with just a light finger pressure. These terminal blocks provide space-saving benefits with their narrow design width, while color coding options further simplify wiring tasks. The Combicon terminal blocks find applications in various electronic systems requiring efficient wire connections and space optimization on PCBs.

I just got done assembling my latest design, and I think I’ve got carpal tunnel syndrome from screwing down all my terminal blocks. I should have used Phoenix Contact’s LPC connectors, because they make connections a snap. Literally! Wiring is faster and easier because you just insert the wire, snap the lever closed, and you get a defined contact force that ensures long-term contact stability.

You also have the option of push-in connections for solid or ferruled wire if the lever is already closed. The LPC series offers a 7.62mm pitch with up to 6 positions rated at 41A and 1000V, and the LPCH series adds 6 signal contacts for up to 8A and 160V and eliminates the need for individual connectors. The mating header meets the touch-proof requirements of UL 61800-5-1, making the LPC and LPCH series perfect for electric drive systems as well as industrial, telecom, automation, transportation, and other applications.
