Panasonic PAN1780 Series Bluetooth RF Modules

Panasonic PAN1780 Series Bluetooth RF Modules are Low Energy (LE) modules based on the Nordic nRF52840 single-chip controller. The PAN1780 Bluetooth modules offer a higher symbol rate of 2Mbps using the high-speed LE 2M PHY or a significantly longer range using the LE coded PHY at 500kb/s or 125kb/s. These Bluetooth modules operate in a supply voltage range from 1.7V to 3.6V and a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Typical applications include health and fitness devices, IoT devices, industrial monitoring and control systems, and wireless audio devices.

Some people claim to get headaches from exposure to RF signals. I don’t know about that, but I do know you can solve your RF design headaches using Panasonic’s PAN1780 Series Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy RF module. The PAN1780 is based on Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52840 SoC with an Arm® Cortex®-M4F, 256KB of RAM, and 1MB of flash. This allows developers to use the module in stand-alone mode, eliminating the complexity, space, and cost of an external processor.

The PAN1780 series Bluetooth 5 module supports data rates up to 2 megabits-per-second, can connect over longer distances at lower data rates, and it supports Type 2 NFC. It also includes an Arm TrustZone® Cryptocell 310 and supports Secure Boot, providing robust security in IoT applications. The PAN1780 offers very low current consumption and has the same compact footprint as the PAN1026A and PAN1762 modules.
