Qnity Laird MAF06 High Current Low DCR Molded Power Inductors
Qnity / Laird MAF06 High Current Low DCR Molded Power Inductors use a molded metal composite structure with self-shielded construction to support high current operation and stable inductance performance. These inductors feature low DC resistance, soft saturation characteristics, AEC-Q200 compliance, and optimized coil and powder materials for power management circuits. The MAF06 inductors have an operating temperature range from -55°C to +155°C and an inductance range from 1.0µH±20% to 15.0µH±20%. These devices come with a maximum DCR of 43.5mΩ and a typical DC current range from 5A to 19A. Typical applications include automotive electronics, industrial systems, telecom infrastructure, datacom equipment, and DC-DC power supply designs.

When your power rail starts acting like a talk radio station, it could be a couple of things: one, you’ve got an Edge AI device that wants to chat, or two, it’s your power inductor asking for help, loudly, in the form of heat and noise. I can help with the inductor problem, because Laird MAF06 Series surface mount power inductors quiet that noise. MAF06 inductors feature a 7.7mm x 7.1mm package footprint using a self-shielding metal composite molding and a space-saving flat wire coil design. This enables high current carrying and low DCR, with saturation current ratings up to 20A and DCR as low as 5mΩ, supporting compact layouts for dense power distribution on the PCB. The MAF06 series is available with 1 to 15 microhenry inductance values and has a soft saturation characteristic. It’s AEC-A200 compliant and rated for operation up to 155°C.
