KEMET Flexible Termination (FT-CAP) Surface Mount (SMD) Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors (MLCCs) use a conductive silver epoxy layer between the base metal and nickel barrier to enhance mechanical flexibility. This design reduces stress transfer to the ceramic body, helping to minimize flex cracks caused by board bending or thermal cycling. These capacitors maintain electrical performance and offer up to 5mm of flex-bend capability. The FT-CAP capacitors operate within a temperature range from -55°C to +125°C, with capacitance change limited to ±15%, and are available in both commercial and AEC-Q200 automotive grades.
