KEMET KPS MIL Series SMPS Stacked Capacitors are designed for high-reliability applications, including military and space environments. These components are built using large chip multilayer ceramic capacitors that are horizontally stacked and secured to a lead-frame termination system. The lead frame provides mechanical isolation from the PCB, which enhances resistance to mechanical and thermal stresses. These capacitors offer bulk capacitance in a compact footprint and are available in BX, BR, BQ, and X7R dielectrics. The KPS MIL series operates within a temperature range of -55°C to +125°C and is qualified under MIL-PRF-49470 standards. These devices are suitable for input and output filtering in power supplies, as well as snubber circuits and radar filtering.
