GIGAVAC GTM Bidirectional Contactors
GIGAVAC Sensata GTM Bidirectional Contactors are hermetically sealed, high-performance DC contactors that can switch in both directions. These contactors deliver excellent arc suppression, strong short-circuit withstand capability, and robust performance under extreme environmental conditions. The GTM400 and GTM500 bidirectional contactors operate within a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and offer a rated voltage of 1500Vdc. These GTM contactors have a contact resistance of 0.3mΩ and an insulation resistance of 100MΩ. Typical applications include Energy Storage Systems (ESSs), heavy vehicles, high-power DC fast charging, and transportation electrification systems.

I can pull a trailer just fine, but backing one in to a tight spot is another question. I guess my trailer driving isn’t bidirectional. Thankfully, my contactors are, because I use Sensata Gigavac GTM contactors. They’re rated for up to 1500Vdc and 500A. Internally, they feature advanced arc suppression to extend operation life, and they have a contact resistance of just 0.3mΩ to help reduce conduction losses. They’re hermetically sealed using Sensata’a proprietary glass to metal seal technology. Combined with strong short-circuit withstand capability and best-in-class break performance, GTM series contactors offer robust performance under extreme environmental conditions. They feature a compact form factor for use in tight spaces, and they’re available with upright or side-mounting option, various coil termination, and with an optional auxiliary contact for application flexibility.
