Cornell Dubilier Type UNL Polypropylene Capacitors utilize a metallized polypropylene dielectric in a snap-in style case. These capacitors support high ripple current applications and offer high capacitance values. Compared to aluminum electrolytic capacitors, they provide lower capacitance but deliver advantages such as self-healing properties, nonpolar operation, extended lifespan, and lower equivalent series resistance (ESR). The UNL series supports ripple currents up to 10 times higher, operates at voltages up to 1500V, and handles continuous currents beyond 20A without using electrolyte.
