I don’t know how, but we keep finding ways to pack more energy into smaller spaces. It’s great for EVs, energy storage, and industrial applications, and thankfully, Bourns keeps finding ways to handle all of this energy. The Bourns HVMA series transformers are AEC-Q200 compliant automotive grade transformers that offer up to 10mm of creepage and basic insulation in a compact surface-mount form factor. The transformers are offered with high working voltages up to 900V and feature a 4000Vac isolation voltage, providing safe and reliable operation in high voltage systems. They’re available in flyback and gate driver topologies with switching frequencies up to 400kHz, supporting high frequency switching and use with wide bandgap semiconductors to help improve efficiency.
