KYOCERA AVX FloXY & FloXY HS Fine Pitch Connectors
KYOCERA AVX FloXY and FloXY HS Fine Pitch Board-to-Board Connectors are high-reliability signal and power connectors that allow movement (float) in the X and Y axes to absorb misalignment during assembly and while in operation. These connectors use a floating structure design that allows for the mating of multiple connectors on the same board. The HS connector variants are value-added products that support high-speed transmission standards of 16Gbps and more. The connectors operate over a temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. Typical applications include industrial, automotive, and transportation.
Features
- Add value design, such as high-speed transmission, EMI control with shield, high-current, and hybrid power-line
- Automatic assembly by robotics is possible
- Available in multiple stack heights
- Available in parallel and vertical orientations
- Floating structure enables the mating of multiple connectors on the same board
- IATF 16949 certified
- Reduces stress on solder joints and suppresses solder cracking problem

“Surfs up” comes to mind when I use the FloXY and FloXY HS Fine Pitch Connectors, as these connectors can move in three axes while mated, two traverse and one rotational. This movement not only helps to ease mating but also absorbs shock and allows for a small degree of movement between two separate PCBs, thus reducing shock and vibration while also reducing damage to solder joints. The IATF 16949 certified nature of these connectors makes them suitable for industrial and automotive environments, and just like how surfers keep their cool in all conditions, these connectors can withstand temperature ranging from -40°C to +125°C. With a pitch of 0.5mm, a stack height ranging from 4mm to 30mm, and between 10 and 180 positions, these connectors are ideal for all kinds of data applications, especially high-speed thanks to their integrated EMI shielding. Now that’s totally rad.
