Amphenol LTD RAPTOR Connectors

Amphenol LTD RAPTOR Connectors are designed to provide partial discharge-free performance at an operating voltage of 2kVac rms at 30,000ft. These connectors feature IP68 sealing and an anti-decoupling mechanism to ensure reliable connections under high vibration. The RAPTOR connectors utilize TALON contacts for temperatures up to +200°C and offer excellent EMC performance. These RoHS-compliant connectors operate at a temperature range from -65°C to +150°C, provide an insulation resistance of less than 5000MΩ, and have a durability of 500 mating cycles. Typical applications include aerospace and E-VTOL.

Features

  • Available in Mil-DTL-38999 series III derived shell sizes from 15 to 25
  • Designed for cables of the standard American Wire Gauge (AWG)
  • Designed to withstand high operating voltages at high altitudes in aircraft
  • Developed to decrease partial discharge
  • Increased clearance distances and insulator material for high voltages
  • Increased HV electric field insulation geometry
  • TALON copper contact with high current

Applications

  • Aerospace
  • E-VTOL and hybrid applications

Icarus flew too close to the sun, melting the wax in his wings and causing him to fall into the sea. If you’re working on e-flight, don’t let your connectors be the Icarus in your design. Instead, let them be Raptors. Amphenol RAPTOR connectors can operate at 2kVac at 30,000ft without partial discharges, making them suitable for batteries, generators, motors, and power distribution units in e-flight, eVTOL, and hybrid applications. Raptor connectors are based on Amphenol’s proven Rhino connectors, but have been reengineered for aerospace applications using aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium and the new high current Talon copper contacts that support operation up to 200°C, standard AWG cables, and nominal current up to 850V. They’re IP68 sealed and have an anti-decoupling ratchet mechanism for reliability even with high vibration.
