Amphenol Advanced Sensors JI and JIC IP68 NTC Thermistors
Amphenol Advanced Sensors JI and JIC IP68 NTC Thermistors are molded onto a flexible circular cable, with the tip and cable insulation made of thermoplastic elastomer rubber. These thermistors feature tinned copper conductors with individual polypropylene insulation and can withstand freezing/thawing cycles. The JI and JIC thermistors are available in wire lengths from 300mm to 5000mm, are RoHS compliant and halogen-free, and offer customizable wire and housing lengths. Typical applications include evaporators, fish tanks, heat pumps, refrigeration, and ventilation.

“Vulcanized unit” might sound like the lead in to a space-based alien military drama, but it’s actually referring to how Amphenol Advanced Sensors Type JI and JIC IP68 NTC Thermistors are manufactured. That’s because the NTC thermistor and a flexible circular cable are molded together in thermoplastic elastomer rubber, providing the IP68 rating and the ability to withstand freeze and thaw cycling. While this construction is robust on its own, the Type JIC variant adds a stainless steel housing for enhanced protection. Both versions can operate continuously from -50°C to +105°C, extending up to 125°C for up to 6 hours. They’re available with a variety of resistance characteristics and wire lengths to suit different applications. Type JI and JIC thermistors are suitable for applications including data centers, shipping containers, evaporators, fish tanks, heat pumps, refrigeration, ventilation, and more.
