EMI leaks are like spilled glitter: you clean it up over and over and it seems like nothing changes. I can’t help you with glitter, but I can help you with EMI, or at least 3M can with their MSG7000SDX series electrically conductive gasket tapes. These tapes provide dependable electrical grounding and effective EMI shielding performance, with a shielding effectiveness of about 80db from 1GHz to 6GHz. The tapes consist of a conductive foam laminated with conductive fabric and a conductive pressure sensitive adhesive, which improves flexibility and stability and helps provide a strong bond. Through the adhesive, resistance is rated at less than or equal to 0.02Ω, helping maintain low contact resistance even under slight compression or with small die-cut sizes. The tapes are halogen-free, supplied with a removable liner, and come in 0.3mm to 3mm thicknesses.
