3M MDR Connectors and Cable Assemblies
3M Mini Delta Ribbon (MDR) Connectors and Cable Assemblies are designed to meet the needs of high-speed/density input/output applications.
3M Mini Delta Ribbon (MDR) Connectors are a half-pitch interconnect system that is a well-proven solution that provides shielding against EMI/ESD and reliable connection through the pre-loaded ribbon contacts, as well as 0.050 inch centerlines. These MDR connectors come with a wide range of pin counts and form factors, enabling design flexibility. The connectors allow mass termination through IDC U-shaped contacts and offer a wide range of pin counts and form factors to enable design flexibility.
The MDR connector system contains a ribbon-style contact based on 0.050 inch centerlines. The receptacle and the mating plug contain pre-loaded contacts for reliable contact during insertion and withdrawal cycles. The cable connectors utilize insulation stripping U-contact to connect to the cable conductor wires. The contact is stamped from a high-performance copper alloy, which provides an efficient combination of mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, and corrosion resistance.
MDR Connector Plugs
3M MDR Connector Plugs are designed around a fine pitch ribbon-style contact for reliable electrical connections. The MDR plug connectors provide wiper-on-wiper contact for reliable repetitive plugging and accept a wide variety of cable constructions including flat, round, twisted pair, and twinax cables.
MDR Connector Receptacles
3M MDR Connector Receptacles feature either latch stands to allow latching of a quick-release backshell or threaded holes to allow thumbscrew attachment (with the proper hardware). With pin counts from 14 to 100, thru-hole, surface mount, press fit mounting styles, and multiple connector orientations, the 3M MDR board mount product line offers engineers great flexibility when designing I/O interfaces.
MDR Cable Junction Shells
3M MDR Cable Junction Shells feature quick-release latching shells with different contacts. These shells are RoHS compliant and are available in different colors.
MDR Jack Socket Screws
3M MDR Jack Socket Screws are used with D-Sub connectors and Mini D Ribbon Connectors. These screws are available in different lengths.
MDR Board Lock Screws
3M MDR Board Lock Screws are used with Mini D Ribbon Connectors. The board lock screws come with nickel plating and steel material.
MDR Hand Press Tools
3M MDR Hand Press Bench Top Tools, an assembly tool for 3M plug connector 101XX-6000XX Series onto 3M Round Jacketed Discrete Wire Cable 3600 or 3644 Series.
MDR Camera Link Cables
3M MDR Camera Link Cable Assemblies carry power, in addition to signal to enable use in base configuration power over camera link applications. The 3M 0.80mm digital camera PoCL cable assemblies are available in a variety of cable lengths and mate to industry-standard Shrunk Delta Ribbon (SDR) 26-position PoCL camera connections.

We’re always chasing the 3 o’clock traffic jam on the freeway home. For most, we’ve come to accept high density will always be accompanied with slow speeds. Or will it? 3M MDR Connectors and Cable Assemblies introduce MDR connectors with IDC U shaped contacts in a wide range of pin counts and form factors with MDR cables for creating maximum design flexibility in high speed, high density input/output applications. MDR connectors feature pre-loaded ribbon contacts stamped from a high performance copper alloy for reliable connection and include shielded shells for EMI and ESD protection. MDR cable assemblies feature low voltage differential signaling for general purpose, high bandwidth interface for serial and parallel data at speeds up to 655Mbps, meeting the requirements of high performance data transmission applications.
