Dear Valued Customer –
On Tuesday, October 20, 2020, a fire broke out at the Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) semiconductor factory in Nobeoka city in Japan. The aftermath of the three‐day fire has created supply chain interruptions for many end-products including, but not limited to, analog‐to‐digital and digital‐to‐analog converters (ADC and DAC chips), TCXO and XO Oscillators, RF modules and various other electronic components used in pro audio, frequency control and RF module applications.
Since many of the AKM products are integrated into other electronic components the effect the fire will have on downstream electronic component production and their subsequent supply chains is limited at this time. The AKM Group has reported they will increase outsourcing production to meet market demand; however, the specifics of this outsourcing are currently unknown.
TTI has taken immediate measures to reserve our inventory for our existing customers and notify the market of potential supply chain interruptions. You should anticipate that the affected electronic components could be on allocation through Q1 2021. The TTI product and sales teams are evaluating potential alternative solutions to assist you and will communicate these alternative solutions as they are identified.
TTI will communicate information as it becomes available – see below.
Sincerely,
The TTI Leadership Team
