California Proposition 65
USA California Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986)
In the interest of protecting consumers and the water supply the state of California USA enacted legislation in 1986 for products sold into the state of California. Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to Proposition 65 chemicals for products sold into California USA.
Proposition 65 requires labels for those products sold into California USA and containing any of the listed substances above “safe harbor” levels, which are defined by the OEHHA with complex and technical exposure criteria.
Some of TTI’s suppliers have chosen to err on the side of caution by applying the California Proposition 65 label to all shipments. Therefore, you may see labels of varying size with the text, “WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive harm...”
As the authorized distributor, not a manufacturer, TTI Inc. does not have detailed chemical content information. Please contact the original manufacturer for specific information regarding the content of any substances that are identified by CA Prop. 65.
For more information on the regulations, see the California Proposition 65 Substance List.
