This sensor is targeted for specialty sensing applications including medical, industrial, manufacturing automation, safety and security equipment.

ROHM’s RPI-352 is a compact sensor packaged in a robust opaque plastic housing with an integrated 940nm LED and phototransistor for optimum sensing performance. The LED can be driven at 50mA with 80mW power dissipation. The detector operates at 5V and produces a minimum collector current of 1mA. Response times are rated at 10ms for high-speed detection and time-critical applications. Its operating temperature range is -25°C to +85°C. With a 3.0mm gap, it’s ideal for contactless object or movement detection. This device is well suited for factory automation, robotics and handheld equipment applications.
