Vishay’s VCNL4020X01 is a fully integrated proximity and ambient light sensor. Fully integrated means that the infrared emitter is included in the package. It has 16-bit resolution, includes a signal processing IC and features a standard I2C communication interface. Featuring integrated modules including infrared emitter (IRED), ambient light sensor (ALS-PD), proximity sensor (PD), and signal conditioning IC, these sensors are specifically designed for specialty sensing applications where limited space is critical. They offer excellent ambient light suppression through signal modulation technology.
