This sensor is targeted for specialty sensing applications including medical, industrial, manufacturing automation, safety and security equipment.
ROHM’s RPI-220 is a compact, through hole reflective sensor packaged in an opaque robust plastic housing that features an integrated 940nm LED and phototransistor for optimum sensing performance. This LED can be driven at 50mA with 80mW power dissipation. The detector operates at 5V and produces a minimum collector current of 0.8mA. Response times are rated at 10ms for high-speed detection and time-critical applications. The ideal object detection distance is 6mm. With an operating temperature range of -25 to +85 degrees Celsius, this device is targeted for factory automation, robotics and handheld equipment applications.
