Fort Worth, Texas – April 4, 2022 – TTI, Inc., a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, is now stocking the OPB815L and OPB815WZ Wide-Gap Sensors from Optek. These sensors are targeted for medical and industrial applications where object movement and detection are critical.
The OPB815L and OPB815WZ consist of an infrared light emitting diode (LED) and an NPN silicon phototransistor mounted in an opaque plastic housing. Offered with a wide slot width of 0.375” (9.5mm) and slot depth of 0.430” (10.9mm) for additional flexibility, this device is designed to switch electrical states when an opaque object is passed through the slot. The slot is wider and deeper than many slotted switches and will accommodate a variety of different interrupter materials. This device can be ordered with a PC board-solderable lead (OPB815L) or with a 26 AWG stranded, UL-rated wire length of 24” [610mm] (OPB815WZ). This sensor is constructed with a robust design to survive harsh environments.
