Fort Worth, Texas – October 19, 2020 – TTI, Inc., a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, is pleased to offer available inventory on the OMRON family of D6T MEMS Thermal Sensors.

OMRON’s D6T Series MEMS Thermal Sensors are a super-sensitive infrared temperature sensor that makes full use of their proprietary MEMS sensing technology. Unlike typical pyro-electric human presence sensors that rely on motion detection, the D6T can detect stationary humans by detecting body heat and can be used to automatically switch off unnecessary lighting and air conditioning when people are not present. Since the D6T can also monitor the temperature of a room, it can also be used to continually maintain optimal room temperature levels, instantly sensing unusual changes in temperature and detecting factory line stoppages or discovering areas of overheating for early prevention of fire outbreaks.

The D6T can take contactless temperature measurements, while standard sensors measure temperature at only one certain contact point. OMRON has developed and manufactured every part of the new thermal sensor, from the MEMS sensors to ASICs (application-specific integrated circuits) and other application-specific parts, with the aim of ensuring that the D6T is capable of highly sensitive detection.
