Diagram Of Resistors
What are the different types of Resistors?
Carbon Composition Resistors: Metal capped cylinder made of carbon and powered ceramic; soldered then coated to insulate.
Metal Film Resistors: Thin metal film deposited on a ceramic body; makes for better stability, accuracy, and reliability.
Carbon Film Resistors: Carbon film deposited on insulating core, helix cut to create resistive path; more coils = higher resistance.
Wirewound Resistors: Nichrome wire wrapped around a core; capable of withstanding high temps.
Thick & Thin Film Resistors: Carbon deposited on the ceramic base; electroplated termination.
