TE Connectivity MULTIGIG RT 2-S and MULTIGIG RT 3 Connectors are advanced, lightweight, and rugged high-speed backplane connectors designed to comply with VITA 46 VPX standards. These connectors are backward compatible with legacy MULTIGIG RT products, offering the same reliable interface. The MULTIGIG RT 2-S and MULTIGIG RT 3 connectors feature a 50Ω impedance and support data rates from 16+Gb/s to +32Gb/s. These components allow flexible configurations by interchanging MULTIGIG RT 3 connectors with legacy MULTIGIG RT 2 and RT 2-R versions. Lightweight, rugged, and high speed is usually a pick two out of three kind of situation, but the exception to that is TE Connectivity MULTIGIG RT 3 and MULTIGIG RT 2-S Connectors. They provide an excellent solution for backplane environments where all three are needed. The lightweight MULTIGIG RT 3 and MULTIGIG RT 2-S connectors offer maximum data rates of greater than 25Gb/s and 16Gb/s, respectively, and they utilize quad redundant contacts for reliability in high shock and vibration environments. The RT 3 and RT 2-S connectors conform to VITA 46.30 and VITA 46.0 open VPX standards respectively and have a minimum mating life span of 500 cycles. Their modular design is backward compatible with legacy MULTIGIG RT products and allows designers to interchange them to achieve the desired configuration. As such, these connectors are ideal for plug-in modules, server systems, power supplies, and backplanes in numerous applications including military, missile defense, and space.
