ITT Cannon D-Subminiature Connectors

ITT Cannon D-Subminiature (D-Sub) Connectors offer a ruggedized interconnect solution that transfers data, power, and signal in a small, weight-saving design. The D-Sub connectors are available in a wide array of Space Grade, Standard D-Sub, Combo-D, Sealed, Double Density versions, and accessories. The D-Sub MIL-Spec connectors are standard density connectors with fixed contacts in solder cups, straight, and 90° PC terminations. These D-Sub connectors offer a 7.5A maximum current rating and an operating voltage of up to 1700V AC. Typical applications include defense, rail, aerospace, medical, and industrial.

Look around almost any modern business environment, and you’ll likely discover at least one D-Subminiature-style electrical connector. From the international space station exploring new frontiers and military equipment supporting critical missions in the field to the latest high-tech data centers and manufacturing equipment that keep our industries operating day in and day out. Cannon D Subs transmit data power and RF that connect the world's most important information with those who need it most. Invented by Cannon engineers in 1952 for aircraft radio systems the D-Subminiature was designed as a smaller lightweight rectangular alternative to larger heavier connectors of the time add up to one inch wide by 1/4" tall the first D Subs featured a 1500 voltage rating a shell of cold-rolled steel and an insert made of molded nylon. Cannon’s patented solution was a technological innovation like no other. For decades it was adapted and configured for use across a number of applications and industries from the first color television sets and mainframe computers to video game consoles and the earliest pcs.

This Cannon’s invention became the first multi-purpose connector of its kind. Today Cannon continues its legacy of innovation through highly engineered D-Subminiature connector styles sizes configurations and accessories. Our highly engineered off-the-shelf and customized solutions are designed to support the aerospace defense industrial transportation and medical markets and have found worldwide acceptance in a wide range of applications from rocket launchers and telecommunications to avionics and high-speed rail, its performance reliability and versatility have made this Cannon invention one of the most widely used connectors in the world. The D-Subminiature family of connector solutions from ITT Cannon works hard for tough and work smart delivering the highest level of quality performance and reliability the unique combination of features and benefits built into D-Sub performance when it matters most. With more than 100 plus years of interconnect excellence, no one is more qualified to help you transmit data power and RF than ITT Cannon we are a committed partner and continue to lead the evolution of interconnect solutions on a global scale at IDT Canada’s amazing things happen when great things connect you.
