Molex Molex Mini50 Connection Systems

Molex Mini50 Connection Systems delivers 50% space savings over traditional USCAR 0.64mm connectors with sealed or unsealed Mini50 single- and dual-row receptacles, with smaller terminals to fit more low-current electrical circuits in interior transportation-vehicle environments. The Mini50 sealed and unsealed wire-to-board receptacles allow device manufacturers to package circuits in tighter spaces by utilizing smaller pin, terminal, and wire sizes while reducing costs. The Mini50 unsealed connectors are the industry’s only interface that meets USCAR 050 standards. The integration of multiple devices in today’s transportation industry creates the need for harnesses with reduced weight, space, and cost. Molex’s Mini50 harnesses provide reliable performance in a limited space, making them ideal for applications within infotainment, lighting, and HVAC systems.

In a world full of copycats and clones, it’s rare to be “the only” anything, but Molex has the only selected USCAR 050 interface in the form of their unsealed Mini50 connector system. The Mini50 system provides up to 50% space savings over traditional USCAR 0.64 millimeter connectors, minimizing the PCB footprint and enabling greater design flexibility. Headers and receptacles are available in single, dual and triple row configurations with up to 38 positions, with multiple polarization options to ensure proper assembly.

The CTX50 terminals feature a wire grip design for wire that accommodates 0.13, 0.22, and 0.35 square millimeter wire, maintaining retention strength while allowing for smaller, lighter, and lower cost wires to be used. The connectors have an independent secondary lock to secure the terminal in the housing, and optional connector position assurance latches are available to prevent accidental un-mating.
